Birk’s Landscaping began in 1991 when Peter Hogenbirk turned a personal vision into a lasting legacy. What started as a one-man operation steadily grew into a respected landscaping company serving the Durham Region and eastern GTA. Through dedication to quality craftsmanship and dependable service, Birk’s built a strong reputation in the community, completing over 5,000 landscapes in its early decades of growth.
Approximately eight years ago, the next chapter began when Dan Hogenbirk and Bill Savage proudly purchased the family landscaping construction company. With a deep respect for the foundation that had been built, they committed to honouring its standards while continuing to move the company forward. Through steady leadership, investment in their team, and a continued focus on quality, Birk’s has grown significantly in both scale and capability.
Today, Birk’s Landscaping has completed roughly 7,500 landscape projects across the GTA, each one contributing to the experience and expertise we bring to every new client. From customized front entrances to expansive estate properties, our team combines thoughtful design with disciplined execution. While the company has evolved, it remains grounded in the same principles it was founded on: craftsmanship, accountability, and delivering outdoor spaces built to stand the test of time.
